As of August 2018 the State of California has changed the requirements of the “Prop 65” law. We now must list on our website any possible chemicals the can cause cancer, birth defects or reproductive problem.
As an example: ABS plastic contains styrene PVC wire insulation can contain Di(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate (DEHP) electrolytic capacitors can contain Ethylene glycol Brass can contain Lead flame retardant pc boards can contain Tetrabromobisphenol A (TBBPA) Aluminum alloys can contain Chromium To put it simply we are a small company and do not have the resources to test every single part, so we list every thing as hazardous. | PTC thermal fuses have pretty wide tolerances and work best when combined with a crowbar circuit that forces them to open quickly. A perfect example would be to protect a zener diode in an overvoltage/reversed voltage protective circuit. The idea is that PTC is there to keep the Zener diode from self destructing, not to provide accurate over current protection. You can use a PTC to form an accurate, slow blow circuit breaker with predictable performance, but typically this will require additional active circuitry. | ||

| I have used these in the past, and they DO work - HOWEVER, you MUST remember that to kick out, they have to be operated at 2x their rating! The GOOD thing is that they CAN be operated at over their rating, as long as you rate them to fail at the level YOU NEED! | ||
